Stangl Pottery Country Garden motif or pattern was introduced in 1956. The designer of this pattern was Kay Hackett. The pattern features many different types of garden flowers such as tulips, daffodils, flax, primrose, marigold, iris, tiger lily, sunflower and campanula. Country Garden was continued until 1977.
We think that this oval double vegetable bowl was probably produced in the 1960's based on one of the backstamps on the bottom of the bowl. There are two backstamps on the bottom. One of the backstamps is an oval with the words Stangl Pottery, Trenton, NJ inside and the words Country Garden under that along with the copyright symbol - ©. The other backstamp is the word STANGL inside an oval.
The bowl features a red tulip with blue flowers and greenery on one side and a yellow daffodil with blue flowers and greenery on the other side. The interior of the bowl is white and the outside is brown.
The length is about 10 3/4 inches, it is almost 7 1/4 inches wide and it's just under 2 1/4 inches tall.
We didn't find any cracks, chips or crazing on this piece.
