Description
From 1914 until around 1945, Reinhold Schlegelmilch of Tillowitz, Germany created fine porcelain pieces of china that were made for the middle class people, especially in the American market. This plate or platter is decorated with 4 pale pink to white roses with leaves. They are above and on a reddish background that also has a floral detail. The plate has a gold design around the perimeter and is banded in gold along the edge.
This plate has two small rectangular open spaces so that it looks like a handled platter.
It's difficult at best to determine the exact age of this piece. The plate is marked on the back with RS Germany in blue, please see the photos for more detail.
Size
The plate measure approximately 10 inches in diameter from handle to handle.
Condition
This plate is in excellent condition for its age. There are small spots on the gold banding that are worn. There is some wear on the back base consistent with age. There are no chips, cracks or crazing.
