Description
This beautiful porcelain figurine of a ballerina was created by Royal Copenhagen, Bing & Grondahl. It is from The Pantomime Tivoli Series of Columbine. This figurine was created sometime between 1970 - 1982.
She is in a white dress that has delicate handpainted flowers on it. She also has flowers in her hair.
The base has a green round backstamp with the three royal towers, which have the initials B&G under them. The words Copenhagen Porcelain Made In Denmark circle the towers. B&G is also stamped under the backstamp and is in blue. The numbers 2355 and the initials HO are under that.
ES-SJ is embossed into the porcelain above the backstamp. We believe the initials stand for Ebbe Sadolin & Svend Jespersen who designed this series.
Royal Copenhagen is located in Denmark and is renowned for their fine porcelain creations.
Measurements
The ballerina stands approximately 10 1/4 inches tall. The bottom of her dress measure about 5 inches across. The base is approximate 2 3/4 in diameter.
