Here is a fine example of a Seltmann fine china white shallow serving or soup bowl. It is a creamy white fine china with a delicate gold trim on the inner rim and outer edge of the bowl. The pattern is call Marie Luise.

Description

This is a very elegant fine china shallow serving bowl or large soup bowl with a gentle scalloped edging that was produced by Seltmann in Weiden Germany. It is the Marie Luise pattern of china. The bowl is white with gold trim around the edges.

There is a backstamp on the bottom that shows a crown, Marie Luise, Seltmann, Weiden Germany. Weiden is in the Bavarian part of Germany.

We don't know when exactly this piece was made, however we purchased this set at an estate sale that had other older china sets.

There is a simple elegance to this piece and is a fine example of the china that the Seltmann company produced.

Measurement

The bowl is approximately 9 1/2 inches in diameter.

Condition

This beautiful serving bowl is in excellent vintage condition. There is minimal wear on the base. There is very little wear on the delicate gold trim. There are no chips, cracks or crazing.

Shown is a Royal Copenhagen oval dish. It made of white porcelain and is hand painted with a sprig of oregano. Around the edge of the dish there is also hand painted florals and design. The outer edge of the dish is slightly serrated and edged in gold paint. There is one handle which is also porcelain and made to look like a rounded trig. There are two applied porcelain flowers on the right side of the handle. The dish is on a black background.
