This is a vintage lusterware fine china teapot that was made in Japan probably sometime between the 1940's-1950's. It was made by Chase or imported by the company. We weren't able to find out any information about the company or when exactly they did business. The teapot has a lusterware finish with a beautiful gold floral design and accents. There is a paper black and gold label on the bottom which features a Pegasus and the name Chase, Japan.
This would make a great addition to your vintage teapot collection.
Please see the photos for more details.
The teapot is approximately 5 1/2 inches tall with the lid on. It is about 9 1/2 inches long from handle to spout. The opening is almost 3 inches in diameter. The base is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter.
There is one manufactured flaw on the base where there is a small indent. There is a couple of small spots on the handle and spout where the gold has worn off. There are no other chips, cracks or crazing that we can find.
