 Description

The cobalt blue color on this casserole dish is amazing! The shape of this casserole is called 'Sundial', which was introduced in 1938. This is the 8 inch casserole, which is one of the largest sizes they made in this shape. The applied decal floral design is called Blue Garden. It features pretty little white flowers and buds with a couple of green leaves. The design is on both sides of the base of the casserole and twice on the lid. The base of the casserole has a red band around the rim and a small red stripe on each handle. The lid also has a red stripe and a red band around the outer edge.

We don't know for certain how long Hall China Company produced this particular design. The base has two backstamps and you can see a close up of those in the photos.

Condition

There is a small scratch on the lid and inch or so behind the base of the handle. Otherwise there are no chips, cracks or crazing that we could find. The applied floral design is also in great shape. Very minimal wear on the bottom of the casserole.
