Description
Fenton Art Glass Company started in business in 1905 by two Fenton brothers and continued as a family run business until 2011. During that time, the Fenton Art Glass Company produced many lovely pieces of practical and decorative pieces of art glass. In the late 1940's they introduced the Silvercrest line, which was a solid color glass with a clear or colored small band of glass on the edging.
This beautiful low footed compote is made of milk glass and is edged with a clear band of glass. The compote is crimped and ruffled. This piece was likely produced in the early 1960's as we found it in one of our Fenton books which featured it in an advertisement from 1961.
Measurements
This compote measures almost 4 inches high and is approximately 8 inches wide. The base is approximately 3 3/4 inches in diameter.
Add this piece to your Fenton Art Glass or milk glass collection. It would make a beautiful candy dish or a display piece.
Condition
This piece is in perfect vintage condition, there are no chips or cracks. It's unmarked, meaning it was produced prior to 1974 when all Fenton pieces began to be marked.
