Fenton Art Glass company is known for making exquisite hand made glass. This beautiful commemorative plate is #2 from their American Craftsman Series and was produced in 1971. The plate is made of carnival glass and shimmers in the light. The Fenton logo is embossed on the back and the original label is also on the back.

From the back of the plate: With this handmade plate, Fenton commemorates the earliest printer of Colonial America. This printing press was set up in Cambridge, Mass. by Stephen Daye in 1638. He printed the first book in English, America, "The Bay Psalm Book" - 1640.

The plate is just over 8 inches in diameter.

Condition: This plate is in excellent vintage condition. There are no chips or cracks. The original label is adhered to the back rim of the plate and has partially come loose at the top and is missing a small piece. Please see the photos for more detail.
