Description

From our research, we believe that these fabulous glass bookends were made by the L.E. Smith glass company in the 1940's. At least three different glass companies were making rearing horse glass bookends. L.E. Smiths have a more rounded/beaded mane, New Martinsville has a more Roman nose and the head and neck are tucked closer to the body and Fostoria has a clipped mane (so does the New Martinsville horse) however the nose of the horse is more upturned.

Measurements

These beautiful glass bookends measure approximately 8 inches tall. The base is approximately 5 1/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches.

Condition

There are no chip or cracks that we can find. These are unmarked.

These would make a great gift for the horse lover in your life. They would also make a statement holding up your favorite books.

Shipping will be higher due to the weight and fragile nature of these horse bookends.
