We adore kitschy planters from days gone by like this adorable cat in a hat planter. Made by Hull Pottery probably sometime between the 1940's-1950's. The colors are a chartreuse with a purplish brown accent. The cat is sitting next to what appears to be a spool of thread.
On the backside of the cat the name Hull, 89-USA is incised, it's a little faint, but still readable.
Measurements: It is about 6 inches tall and approximately 8 inches long.
Condition: The planter was used as a planter in the past and there are some minor dirt stains on the inside, though we cleaned it up the best that we could. There is a flaw on the front on the right hand side of the spool that occurred when the planter was made, please see the photos for more details. There is wear on the base of the planter consistent with the age of the piece. There are no chips, cracks or crazing that we can find.
